I
have attracted the audience during making my thriller sequence due to the fact
that I tried to use some music in the background which will appeal to the
target audience but at the same time will go well with the type of genre which
the sequence was which was ‘thriller’. I made it so that the background which I had chosen would go with every type of audiences type of interest in music. The type of music which I had chosen makes the sequence seem more dramatic and sets the scene well.
I also tried to attract that audience by the film sequences name; I tried to make it so that it will draw the audience in. This is due to the fact that the name is usually what makes someone want to watch the film because it can tell a lot about what the film is about and what it will be like. I also made sure that the font of the title stood out from everything and it will also make the audience know what the sequence is going to be out. This is due to the fact that it isn't elegant font or bubble writing. I used more of a thriller/ horror type of font this makes the audience think more.
I also made my film so I used some stereotypical characters but on the female character I made it so I twisted the characters costume around, so it wasn’t totally stereotypical to all the other types of characters where they are wearing vulnerable clothes. This is due to the fact that when you are watching a thriller film most of the time the 'vulnerable' female character would be wearing party clothes or very party dresses. This will automatically make the audience think that something is going to happen with the female character. In my thriller sequence by making the female character wear sports clothing it makes the audience wonder what will happen with this character.
I also made it so that you aren’t able to see the male characters face which will attract the audience due to the fact that they might want to keep watching on so they can learn more about the character. By doing this it won't be giving too much of the story away in the first half of the sequence, except for knowing that there us a 'bad' male character and a 'vulnerable' female character.
The movie trailer of 'Taken' is similar to what my movie is about due to the fact that it is about a 'vulnerable' female character and also a 'bad' male character. This movie trailor example makes you want to keep watching throughout the film; this is due to that fact that in the movie trailor it doesn't give you too much away. Also the use of the name title 'Taken' makes you (the audience) think about why it has been named 'Taken' and why they haven't used another name for it.
