Thriller Research- Risk Assessment

RISK ASSESSMENT

One of the risks which may happen with filming with a weapon is that someone may accidentially get hurt if they mess around with it and don't handle it in a proper way with safety. Also if we film  in a dark room then someone may bang into something accidentially due to the fact they may not know where they are going or heading. Also there may be a risk of if you mess around then you may end up dropping the camera.

Thriller Research- Location

LOCATION
This is an image of the location of where I will be filming my sequence. I have decided to film it here due to the fact it is very dark and mysterious scenery around and it is a very large space. It also goes really well with the genre of the film sequence, it will also give me a lot of space to film in. The colour of the walls will also give the sequence the edgyness about it and will also set the scene for the rest of the film.

Thriller Research- Storyboard/ Camera Work and Actors/Actoresses

STORYBOARD
These images are the storyboard of the thriller which I will be using, also on the storyboards shows the camera work which I will be using to make the thriller. I have also put on the storyboards the type of transition which I will be using for the font and titles. I have chosen to use the fade in because it is much more mysterious and dramatic.

CAMERA WORK

My first piece of camera work is a low angle, long shot of a female character waiting by herself and she keeps looking at her mobile phone in her hand. After this it then goes to a high angle, extreme close up shot of the female charcters mobile phone and it shows that she has got a text from a mysterious male character (may be a love interest?) it then shows her texting the other character back.
After this it then goes to an over the shoulder shot of the 'mysterious male character) who texted the female character watching her from a distance.
This then goes onto a long shot (low angle) of the mysterious male charcter, looking down at his phone after he recieved a text from the female charcter.
This would then go into the extreme close up shot again of the male characters mobile, when he is sending a text to the female character saying 'im nearly there...'
There is then a long shot/ two shot of the female character waiting but also facing away from the male character (which she doesn't know is there). We then see the male character creeping up slowly behind the female character with a weapon in his hand behind his back.
The last storyboard shows the actors/ actresses which are involved within the sequence. I chose Honor Cantrell to play the female character due to the fact she suited the characters qualities due to the fact that she has got very long blonde hair. I also chose to use Jay Cantrell as the male character, due to the fact that he is very tall and quite athletic built.

Thriller Research- Font

FONT
This is the font which I will be using for my title of the thriller which I will be making. I decide to go with the more scary and horror kind of font. This is due to the fact it will go much better with the genre and makes the sequence more mysterious, it may also make the audience think and may be want to watch the sequence if they enjoy watching thriller.

The link below shows the font which I have chosen to use for the rest of the writing and credits, the font which I have chosen also suits the sequence and makes the audience think about the sequence and why the font is like it is. I like the way the font looks like it has been hand written, it looks very edgy and messy and goes well with the type of genre of the film sequence.

The image below shows the name of the production company which I have made to represent the film which I will be producing. I went with the name 'P is4PROduction' because I thought that it wasnt too hard to remember and it is quite catchy at the same time, It also goes well together.

Thriller Research- Soundtrack

SOUNDTRACK

I chose to use this soundtrack as the backing track due to the fact that it is very mysterious and also goes well with the genre. It is also quite rockish so it could go with the theme of the sequence, I also like the use of instruments and vocal within the song because it makes you want to tap your feet along with it or carry on watching the film because you don't know what it is going to be happening. I also decided to chose a more of a rockish song because it would go well with the sequence and may be tell more of a story then a slow love song, which wouldn't go with the theme.

Thriller Research And Planning- Mise En Scene

Mise En Scene

These 2 costumes are the costumes which I have chosen to choose for the female character. I have chosen quite party dresses so she looks more girly and innocent, but at the same time I have chosen the red because it comes across as love or danger. This goes well with the Thriller that I will be making. I also had a second option of costume which was the white and black dress. I had this as an option due to the fact it is quite girly but it is at the same time quite edgy while also at the same time being quite innocent with the use of flowery patterns. I also chose the character to be wearing high heels because they are very party and at the same time quite elegant and goes well with the character.

This is the costume which I have chosen for the male character to wear. I thought that this was the best kind of costume due to the fact it is a very dark outfit, making it more mysterious. It also makes you think what has the character got to hide and it goes well with the thriller genre. It also represents the character very well and also what is going to happen throughout the sequence. This will give the effect of this character may have a few secrets or something may be about to happen which you didnt expect.

Questionnaire For Thriller

Above is the questionnaire which I had made to get all of my audience research to show me what people in different age groups like and dislike about thrillers. I found out that 5 out of the 20 people I had asked disliked watching thrillers. I also asked the questionnaire 'What attracts you to a thriller movie?' some of the responses I got was that they enjoyed the suspense it gives you, I also got a few answers saying its good if it has a good plot. This would help me with the thriller planning due to the fact I now know what people look for and what makes the audience want to watch something.
I also asked the question ' do you like to be introduced to the potagonist?' I had responses with 3 people saying they did and 12 people saying they didn't due to the fact that they much prefered to be able to work out who the bad guy is by themselves.
The image above shows all of the results I got this is due to the fact my questionnaire was a open questionnaire answer so that I knew exactly what people would prefer and what could help me out for doing a thriller.
