Thriller Evaluation Question 4

Who would be the target audience for your media product?

The way I have done my media Thriller sequence, I have made it so that my thriller will be able to appeal to a much wider audience. I have done this due to the fact that throughout the thriller sequence there was no blood or guts and gore involved; the sequence was more about what you think will happen next and why you think that might happen.
I also think it may range to a much wider audience due to the fact that the actor/actress involved in the sequence is in their teens. When I was setting out the questionnaire, the people who I asked were at least 20 and over this gave me a different perspective on how people who have come out of their teen years think about thrillers and what they like to watch. Also what will catch their eye when watching a thriller; when I asked about what attracts you to a thriller a lot of the audience which I had asked liked the suspense and how there is a good plot behind the story.
The answers which were given for all of the questions which had been asked gave me a good view on what I should include throughout the sequence. From my research on the http://www.launchingfilms.com/research-databank/ their research shows that there has been an increase in the amount of people going to the cinema in certain times. It also shows that the best time to bring a film out in the cinema is in the months of February, July and also August; this will also be the best time to get a profit from your film due to the fact so many people go to the cinema at any one time.
I have also found out from my research that in the year 2009 the target audience of people aged between 15-24 years had a percentage of 35% which is the biggest percentage of people who attend the cinema throughout the year. This will therefore mean that the audience who I have chosen to appeal to is definitely the best audience to appeal to economically due to the fact you will be bringing in more money than if I appealed to 12 years and below. All of the research I had got is from on page 115.
